Remember this, when you step over my door sill, you’ve been raised. You know the difference between right and wrong. Do right. Don’t let anybody else raise you and make you change. And remember this, you can always come home.’

Reason, a Season or a Lifetime

People come into your life for a reason, a season or a lifetime. When you know which one it is, you will know what to do for that person. When someone is in your life for a REASON, it is usually to meet a need you have expressed. They have come to assist you through a difficulty, to provide you with guidance and support, to aid you physically, emotionally or spiritually. They may seem like a godsend and they are. They are there for the reason you need them to be. Then, without any wrong doing on your part or at an inconvenient time, this person will say or do something to bring the relationship to an end. Sometimes they die. Sometimes they walk away. Sometimes they act up and force you to take a stand. What we must realize is that our need has been met, our desire fulfilled, their work is done. The prayer you sent up has been answered and now it is time to move on. Some people come into your life for a SEASON, because your turn has come to share, grow or learn They bring you an experience of peace or make you laugh. They may teach you something you have never done. They usually give you an unbelievable amount of joy. Believe it, it is real. But only for a season. LIFETIME relationships teach you lifetime lessons, things you must build upon in order to have a solid emotional foundation. Your job is to accept the lesson, love the person and put what you have learned to use in all other relationships and areas of your life. It is said that love is blind but friendship is clairvoyant. Thank you for being a part of my life, whether you were a reason, a season or a lifetime...

Love or Infatuation

Infatuation, is instant desire-one set of glands calling to another.

love, is friendship that has caught fire, it takes root and grows one day at a time.

Infatuation, is marked by a feeling of insecurity, you are excited and eager but not genuinely happy there are nagging doubts, unanswered questions, little bits and pieces about your beloved that you would just as soon not examine to closely.

Love, is the quiet understanding and mature acceptance of imperfection. it is real. It gives you strength and grows beyond you- to bolster your beloved. You are warmed by their presence and even when they are away. Miles do not separate you, you want them near, but near or far, you now he or she is yours and can wait.

Infatuation has an element of sexual excitement, whenever you are in one another's company you are hoping it will end in intimacy.

Love, is the maturation of friendship, you must be friends before you can become lovers.

Infatuation lacks confidence. When they are away you wonder if they are cheating, sometimes you check.

Love means trust, you are calm, secure and unthreatened, he feels your trust and it makes him even more trustworthy.

Infatuation might lead you to do things you'll regret later.

Love, lifts you up, it makes you look up, it makes you think up, it makes you a better person than you were before!

Maturity

Maturity is many things. It is the ability to base a judgement on the big picture, the long haul. It means being able to resist the urge for immediate gratification and opt for the course of action that will pay off later. One of the characteristics of the Young is "I want it now". Grown-up people can wait.

Maturity is perseverance_ the ability to sweat out a project or a situation in spite of heavy opposition and discouraging setbacks. To stick with it until it is finished. The adult who is constantly changing jobs, changing friends and changing mates is immature. He cannot stick it out because he has not grown up.

Maturity is the ability to control anger and settle differences without violence or destruction. The mature person can face unpleasantness, frustration, discomfort and defeat without collapsing or complaining. he knows he can't have everything his own way every time. He is able to defer to circumstances, to other people- and to time. He knows when to compromise and is not too proud to do it.

Maturity is humility. It is being big enough to say, "I was wrong." And, when he is right, the mature person need not experience the satisfaction of saying, "I told you so."

Maturity is the ability to live up to your responsibilities, and this means being dependable. It means keeping your work. Dependability is the hallmark of integrity. Do you mean what you say- and do you say what you mean? Unfortunately, the world is filled with people who can't be counted on. When you need them most, they are among the missing. they never seem to come through in the clutches. They break promises and substitute alibis for performance. They show up late or not at all. they are confused and disorganized. Their lives are chaotic maze of broken promises, former friends, unfinished business and good intentions that somehow never materialize. they are always a day late and a dollar short.

Maturity is the ability to make a decision and stand by it. Immature people spend their lives exploring endless possibilities and then do nothing.

Maturity is the ability to harness your abilities and your energies and do more than is expected. The mature person refuses to settle for mediocrity. he would rather aim high and miss the mark than aim low- and make it.

Maturity is the art of living in peace with that which we cannot change, the courage to change that which should be changed, no matter what it takes, and the wisdom to know the difference.
